The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League was established in 1943 by Phillip K. Wrigley, then owner of the Chicago Cubs. The league lasted for 12 years, and was the first and last professional women’s baseball league in America. By the time the league ended in 1954, it had given well over 500 women the opportunity to eat, sleep, and live baseball.1
